رستم گفت: «تو با این سپاه آمده‌ای پیش من؟ کار بیهوده‌ای کردی.»

Rostam goft: «To bâ een sepâh âmade-ee peesh-e man? Kâr-e beekhodee-ee kardee.»

Rostam said: "You came to me with this army? You have done a useless thing."

این را گفت و به سپاه حمله کرد و آن‌ها را شکست داد.

Een râ goft va be sepâh hamle kard va ânhâ râ shekast dâd.

He said this, attacked the troops, and defeated them.

سپس اولاد را با کمند گرفت و به او گفت که اگر جای دیو سپید و جایی که کیکاووس زندانی است را به من نشان بدهی، من تو را شاه مازندران می‌کنم.

Sepas Oolâd râ bâ kamand gereft va be oo goft ke agar jâ-ye Deev-e Sepeed va jâ-yee ke Keykâvus zendânee ast râ be man neshân bedahee, man to râ shâh-e Mâzandarân meekonam.

Then he caught Oolaad with his lasso and said: "If you show me where Deeve Sepeed is and where Kay Kāvus is imprisoned, I will make you king of Mazandaran."

ولی اگر به من دروغ بگویی، کاری می‌کنم که خون گریه کنی.

Valee agar be man doroogh begooyee, kâree meekonam ke khoon gerye konee.

"But if you lie to me, I will make you weep tears of blood."

اولاد پذیرفت و جای دیو سپید را گفت.

Oolâd pazeeroft va jâ-ye Deev-e Sepeed râ goft.

Oolaad agreed and told the place of Deeve Sepeed.

گفت: «باید از راهی میان دو کوه بگذری. دوازده هزار دیو در شب از راه نگهبانی می‌کنند. راهی بسیار سخت در پیش داری. چگونه می‌خواهی این همه دیو را شکست بدهی؟»

Goft: «Bâyad az râhee meeyân-e do kuh begozaree. Davâzdah hezâr deev dar shab az râh negahbânee meekonand. Râhee besyâr sakht dar peesh dâree. Chegoone meekhâhee een hame deev râ shekast bedahee?»

He said: "You must pass through a road between two mountains. Twelve thousand demons guard the road by night. You have a very hard road ahead. How will you defeat all these demons?"
