رستم نامه را پیش شاه مازندران برد.

Rostam nâme râ peesh-e shâh-e Mâzandarân bord.

Rostam carried the letter to the Shah of Mazandaran.

شاه مازندران چند تن از پهلوانانش را جمع کرد تا پیش رستم بروند.

Shâh-e Mâzandarân chand tan az pahlavânânash râ jam' kard tâ peesh-e Rostam beravand.

The Shah of Mazandaran gathered several of his champions to go before Rostam.

رستم تا آن‌ها را دید، درختی را از ریشه کند و به سویشان پرتاب کرد.

Rostam tâ ânhâ râ deed, derakhtee râ az reeshe kand va be soo-yeshân partâb kard.

As soon as Rostam saw them, he tore a tree up by the root and flung it in their direction.

یکی از پهلوانان خندید و پیش رستم آمد و دستش را به او داد.

Yekee az pahlavânân khandeed va peesh-e Rostam âmad va dastash râ be oo dâd.

One of the champions laughed, came forward, and offered Rostam his hand.

رستم خندید و دست آن مرد را چنان فشرد که از درد بیهوش شد.

Rostam khandeed va dast-e ân mard râ chenân feshord ke az dard beehoosh shod.

Rostam laughed and squeezed the man's hand so hard that he passed out from the pain.

یکی از مازندرانی‌ها پیش شاه مازندران رفت و داستان را برایش گفت.

Yekee az Mâzandarânee-hâ peesh-e shâh-e Mâzandarân raft va dâstân râ barâyash goft.

One of the Mazandaranis went to the Shah and told him the story.

شاه یکی از جنگجویانش را فرستاد تا رستم را تنبیه کند.

Shâh yekee az jangjooyânash râ ferestâd tâ Rostam râ tanbeeh konad.

The Shah sent one of his warriors to punish Rostam.

رستم دست او را نیز چنان فشرد که پوست و ناخن‌هایش کنده شدند.

Rostam dast-e oo râ neez chenân feshord ke poost va nâkhon-hâyash kande shodand.

Rostam squeezed his hand too, so hard that the skin and nails were torn away.

او هم برگشت پیش شاه و گفت: «بهتر است با او جنگ نکنیم.»

Oo ham bargasht peesh-e shâh va goft: «Behtar ast bâ oo jang nakoneem.»

He too went back to the Shah and said: "It is better that we do not fight him."

هم‌زمان، رستم وارد کاخ شد.

Hamzamân, Rostam vâred-e kâkh shod.

At the same moment, Rostam entered the palace.
